Question about brakes

Hi,

I'm new to the forum.
I test drove the Toyota 4Runner 2010 Limited yesterday.
I love the SUV and am thinking about buying one.

The only thing I found weird during the test-drive was that the brake felt spongy... there was a good amount of pedal travel before some braking would actually take place.

Do you guys experience the same ?
Or is it probably something w/ that demo model only.

Thanks,

Did you forget to turn off eco mode?

Just kidding man... it's nothing unusual, and we all have it but you can search for the TONS of threads on that topic. Basically just the new brake system and now I honestly don't even notice it at all.

yeah it's kind of weird at first, but after a few days you'll get used to it and probably forget all about it.

yes, the brakes have a "squishy" sound to them, and you do seem to have to push in a little more to apply the brakes. That being said, i've had my 4runner for almost 2 weeks and dont notice the noise or anything else. The truck is great. Now, go buy one.

I had no issue w/ brake noise or sound...
The only thing I found weird was that I had to give a good inch of pedal travel before any braking whatsoever would be applied.
Maybe it's just an adjustment, or air in the system.

Do you guys have the same or it's pretty gradually, as soon as you start pressing the brake some minimal braking occurs... which wasn't my case during the test drive.
