Question about Factory Rear Air Deflector

I have noticed a rattle for some time while closing my drivers door and walking to the rear of the 4R. Couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Thought it was the fuel door.
Well today while washing it for the first time in awhile I found where I think it's coming from. The rear air deflector. The drivers side is a little loose and when I check the passenger side, it's rock solid. When I hit the drivers side of the deflector I get a rattle. BINGO!
Now my question is, there is a plastic plug on the inside of the hatch up where the deflector is mounted. I pulled out the plug and underneath there is a bolt. I snugged tight the bolt, not knowing if it went directly into the plastic rear deflector, didn't want to over tighten and crack the plastic if this was the case. This didn't have any affect on the deflector, it is still a little loose.
Does anyone know how the air deflector is actually mounted to the rear hatch and what needs to be done to get it tight?

There are the two bolts you found, plus there are two clips riveted to the door. The clips are on the sides of the door, where the spoiler sort of wraps around the side of the back door near the two side windows. So the spoiler pops on to the two clips, and then is secured by the bolts.

There is no way to adjust the clips. If you were to remove the spoiler, the clips would be permanently destroyed, and you might also break the spoiler. To re-install the spoiler, you have to drill out the rivets and replace the clips.

I've noticed a similar rattle - slam the driver's door, and there's a noise at the back door. I've found it's the license plate. The bottom of the plate is swinging free, and closing the door creates enough vibration to make the bottom edge rattle. To cure this, simply put something soft behind the bottom of the license plate like a piece of adhesive felt or rubber.

When I first installed the license plate I put some small rubber thingies where the plate might make contact with the hatch. I'll recheck them.
So you are saying that the rear air deflector can not really be tightened without it being a big production?
Damn.

I noticed that my spoiler really doesn't move.
If you're still under warranty, removing and re-installing it might be an exercise to put the dealer through. But it's something you don't want to take on yourself.

Rear spoiler rattling

Mine is totally loose, and I have other drivers flashing their lights and pointing to it. The 2 bolts that attach it from inside are gone, except one is rolling around in the bottom of the rear door. They never installed the clips at the time of install. I just bought this, used from my brother, and my local dealership is going to have to re-attach this thing. Not fun. I tried adhesive tape, but there is too much force acting on that thing.

Right now I have a bungie cord looping around the spoiler and going down to the hitch. Very Upstate New York. If only I could have used duck tape or zip ties.
