Question about my Taco Skid

So... I just received my Taco Skid plate in the mail today and when I opened the package I was surprised to find a skid plate that looked as if it had been rhino-lined and then painted silver. This is not at all what I was expecting, as I thought these were brushed aluminum. Was I mistaken??? or, Are there more than one style of these on the market???
Also, just for mention...this is a factory piece which was shipped from a Toyota dealer in Texas.

If you mean it's not shiney well the ones I've seen and the one I have is more of a flat silver and has a slight texture. Mine has gotten a bit stained over time since I never remove it except for off road excursions but it's only noticeable if you get down and really look at it.

BTW, these aren't "skids". If you bump into anything more solid than a pile of leaves, you will bend it.

Ha kind of true they take a hit, but in the wrong spot they will bend in the middle especially but it looks cool anywhoo thats what ive experienced.

Oh yeah, that's old news on any Toyota truck forum but I think they are safe from most damage on the street and they look good. I remove mine for any off road excursion thus is why mine is fine after the 5 years it's been on my '99 and previously spent a year on my '97.
