question about stereo wiring harness for 02 Limited

I just picked up a sweet '02 Limited 4runner, and I love it! It still had the stock stereo system in it, and I wanted something better.

To make a long story short, when the guys at Best Buy installed it, the clock on the dash doesnt work, and the left side of my temp control unit doesnt light up.

I got into it myself, and it looks like the wiring plugs for the clock and the unit are missing and nowhere to be found. I looked on the old stereo, and on the new witing harness and couldn't find any plugs anywhere.

Is there a special wiring harness for the Limited vs a SR5? Is it possible the correct harness will have all the plugs, or am I missing something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Assuming that everything was working before you went to Best Buy, I would go back there and explain this to them.:bash:

I would bring it back asap, the longer you wait the less chance you have to make your case . Installing a sterio should not have afected your clock or any thing else. Ask to speak to someone in charge like a manager,and explain what happened. Stay calm and take charge of the situation. Good Luck!

ha ha, yes 3rd gens have a factory amp (premium sounds as best buy calls it)..

they did not remove the amp and install the correct harnes, they kinda made their own...

btw here is a pic i drew up trying to help out another guy.

The amp was the first thing i removed.

TALK ABOUT DUMMY! How did they not check their installation before they said your truck was ready? HORRIBLE.

I have seen this before. Your factory clock harness has been inserted into a false receptical on the back side of the instrument panel. It is still there but you need to put it in the right spot.

Yep i have done this as well, took me a second to figure out where my "other" plug went lol

haha, I did the same thing myself.
when I pluged it in that dummy slot, I was thinging maybe something was wong, maybe i blow up fuse or something,
I went to a autoshop, one guy find the extra dummy slot.
