question about the 06 JBL Changer

Hi,

My parents just got on 06 Limited with the new 6 disc changer that supports MP3 playback.

Since mine doesn't have this, I'm not too familar with it.

I was looking over the manual, and it looks like you can put music in different folders on the CD? Is that corrrect?

If so, I could put all of my dads CD's into different folders? Then he can just scroll through each folder, and then scroll through all the songs within that folder?

Is that how it works?

Thanks
Chris.

Chris,

Yes you can load your dad's Cd's as MP3's into separate folders then he can scroll through them and play back whichever folder of tunes he prefers.

A couple of things to keep in mind on how this unit works. You'll want to name the top level folders in the order you want them to appear on the disc otherwise they will be sorted alphabetically. The same thing applies to the tracks in the folders. The MP3 playback order in the JBL unit is by the actual file name, not MP3 track number.

You can have your MP3 program on your computer add in the track # to the file name or rename the files yourself. I have musicmatch jukebox setup to name the ripped mp3 files in the following order with a dash as the track separator:

artist name - track # - track title

When you burn the CD-R burn it as a data file, not as an audio CD.

I hope this helps and makes sense.

David
