Question about the center console

Hey everybody,

I was washing the 4runner today and noticed that the piece on the backside of the center console lifts up, but I can't for the life of me figure out why. Anybody know what this is for?

There is a factory trash container that is like $40-50, or you can use a plastic grocery sack with the handles pulled through and over toward the outside and stuck in the little spaces.

I use mine religiously. People that repeatedly ride with me have become accustomed to it being there and when it isn't (if I've forgot to reload it after taking out a full used one), they look at me funny.

Never even knew there was a factory one.

Got the truck and went, "Cool! A holder to use grocery bags as a trash bag!"

My understanding is the factory trash bag that fits this holder is available only in Japan. Otherwise, as others stated, a plastic grocery bag rolled up a bit works well.
