Question about XM radio reception.

I installed an aftermarket XM radio in my 2008 T4R recently and now have a question. I ran a line from the XM unit (audio out)
to the AUX jack in the console glove box so I didn't have to use FM modulation. Now anytime I use the XM I get a high-pitched sound that is constant anytime the XM is on. If I go back to the stereo everything sounds normal.
Is this some form of interference or something else? Any ideas on how to get rid of the noise?

Don't suppose the male end of the jack is wet by any chance? I know it's random but that will cause feedback.

Where did you hook the power for the XM? It sounds like you need a power line noise filter.

In an attempt to have a cleaner install, I purchased a 12v outlet and spliced it into one of the outlets in the console. Then I mounted (hid) that down inside the console and ran the power cord out the seam where the console meets the dash.....which is where I have the XM mounted.
I guess I could try plugging the power cord into one of the other 12v outlets and see if that makes a difference. Can I purchase the noise filter at Radio Shack?
