Question about XREAS...

Hi all, great forum. I'm about to purchase a 4runner for some future camping/towing a travel trailer. Looking to get a v8, not sure if it'll be the sports edition or limited. (availability) Anyhow, if I'm going to pull a travel trailer (3500-5000 lbs) do I need the XREAS system?

No, you do not need XREAS to pull a trailer. It won't hurt of course. XREAS really works better for day to day driving as it eliminates a lot of body roll during cornering. When you tow a trailer you generally don't throw the truck hard into corners so the XREAS won't do much during towing. If you are undecided about the Limited or the SE but plan on towing I would get the Limited with the optional rear air suspension. This will do more for towing. With the air susp you will automatically get XREAS. They come together, or so someone pointed out in another thread recently.

Answer would be no.

Xreas works ok , and does help with some body roll , but I could easily be fine without having it it. I don't think it helps all that much , and if you had one without you could put a good set of shock on and be just as good off if not even better that Xreas ..

My friend did this on his SR5 and I swear it's handles better than mine with Xreas.

Just my opinion though.
