Question For Dad 4runner Owner Re: Infant Car Seat?

expecting our first child soon and was wondering if anyone with 2003 limited has recently purchased or currently has an infant car seat installed? opinions on anyone in particular? any particular car seat saver used to protect leather? did you need a car seat leveler for a good fit?

Do not worry about it is my suggestion. I own a 03 Sport Edition and the car seat could not have gone in easier. It might also have to do that we bought the top of the line car seat at that time.

The car seats equipped with LATCH make installation a breeze... mount points labelled w/ tags at the base of the seatback and the metal mounts on the back of the seat. (route the strap UNDER the headrest) It's much more secure than just using a seatbelt to hold the infant seat in place... 30 secs or less to install/remove...

We have a Britax Marathon and a Wizard in my Limited 04. At first we used an Evenflo with the removable pumpkin carrier that locks into the stroller. That is nice until your baby gets bigger. We recently switched to the Britax's and they are much easier to install and adjust. Also get a seat saver. I think they are called seat savers and are made by Prince Lionhart. Car seat installation in the 2003 / 2004 4Runner has to be the easiest I have ever done. We have a 2004 with a toddler seat and an infant seat. Both were extremely easy. For the infant seat, we have the Graco Snugride. We primarily picked this because it has one of the best safety ratings from consumer reports (see link
