Question for people who bought OEM TOYOTA LCA BUSHINGS

I ordered bushing from eBay that are toyot OEM LCA BUSHINGS. The price was much cheaper then ordering from actual dealer website. The bushings came in today. They were each individually wrapped in a plastic bag with each bushing have a toyota part # sticker on it. The bag isn't fully sealed. And it almost looks like try put the bushing in their own bag, and just slapped some old used sticker. It only has one sticker. Just the one with the part # on it. Like red letters.

my question is. Anyone who bought OEM LCA BUSHINGS from dealer. What package did it come. And did the bushing have a part # any where or toyota logo anywhere in it. Just trying to confirm these aren't counter fit.

When I did my T-belt/Water pump 1 year and a half ago(ish) I found a kit on eBay that said it was 'ALL OEM PARTS'. And it was cheap. Sure, why not?

Got it, and it was all 'OEM' brand, as in, that was the scammy brand name. A brand called 'OEM', not in any way actual OEM parts. I complained, they took a return, and I got a *REAL* kit from Aircabinman (ebay seller's name) which was actually all OEM and/or original supplier parts, top notch quality, only a little higher in price.

So yeah, you can get scammed buying 'OEM' parts on eBay.

Bought mine direct from the dealer. Looked just like that. Individual bagged, bag sealed with the sticker.

Based on my experiences, OEM parts can come in a variety of packaging due to different manufacturers or dealer returns or whatever. If you're really concerned, you can always call a local Toyota dealer to check if they have any for comparison in person.

the only difference i see compared to yours [MENTION=151010]SaulG[/MENTION]

is i have a lexus logo on the bottom left, and the bottom right says 40 on mine rather then TT on yours. Top right on mine says BF. The sticker looks like OEM. I paid 65$ for two bushings ending in part #50 and $50 for #40. So total was $110

Thanks. Just looks best up. As in the plastic bag. Maybe those are the so called, "fell of the truck", or misplaced you know what I mean. So your bushing looked like mine to right ? And no where on the bushing did it say the part number.

I bought a Napa bushing to steal a sleeve I damaged for my ES bushings. The Napa part looked identical to your pics. Not saying it's not oem. Hard to believe someone got oem bags and filled them with non oems.

If you're really concerned throw the bushing in a vice and pry on it. If it's a counterfit its probably really cheap and has lots of play from the factory, but those look OEM to me.

What made you go OEM? My ES are so loud it's pretty annoying. They are completely dry.

What sucks about oem is they are fused to the sleeve. So when you wheel hard they bind. The bushing can actually lift a tire off the ground. I get a lot more free movement and more droop with polys. Also the binding tears and wears out the bushing. The oems never were designed for the type of abuse we put then through.

You'd be surprised how big the OEM parts grey market is, I live in a town of 100k people and we recently had a Chinese grey market distribution center move in and steal a lot of our local body shop customers with their cheap "OEM parts."

Here's an eBay auction for 'OEM' parts. They do say OEM, but they never say genuine Toyota OEM.

My wife tried a set of aftermarket LCA bushings on her '96, the rubber degraded on them very quickly and they got replaced again within a year, year and a half. Not worth the effort to do it twice, just buy the correct ones the first time.

Were do they get the OEM bags? Usually you can tell counterfeit bags.

Production of counterfeit stickers and boxes isn't that difficult, it's a pretty big industry.
