Question; how to hotwire the fuel pump, 95 V6

I'd like to use the fuel pump to drain the old gas before I hook up the fuel rail, but I don't have wiring diagrams. It does seem like there's several interconnects , the air flow meter comes to mind, which prevent the pump from kicking on simply from a key turn.

Can someone tell me if there's a lug in the fuse box that I can put 12 volts on, which will power the fuel pump?

On my gen one there is a diagnostic port where two pins can be jumped to run pump with key in on position. Keep searching I'm sure yours has something similar. If that doesn't work I've applied 12v at the pump under the back seat too. If it's been sitting a long time you might want to pull the pump and check the tanks internals. I did this recently and found siphoning the fuel from the fuel pump access did the trick much quicker and allowed me to blow out the fuel lines as well.

My 95 V6 has the diagnostic port, near the passenger side fuse box. I'll give it a look thanks.

I also noticed the gas tank has a threaded drain plug accessible through one of the holes in the shield, although I'm not excited about draining 10 gallons of gas on my head. That drain plug is the way to go with a near empty tank to drain more than the pump will.

I poked around with the siphon hose but I couldn't blow bubbles, so I thought it was empty until put a little power on the cables and the gauge says I have a half tank of fine vintage. I have to learn to abandon these projects on empty, although Full it's probably better.

Hopefully the tank is not too bad, while it's been a couple years, the tank has been closed, it's been indoors, and the humidity is usually about 5% here. Probably change the filter after a couple tanks.

Jump the Fp and +B terminals on the diagnostic port together.
That will bypass the AFM and COR to get power to the fuel pump

Thanks, this is just what I did to cure my "dead" fuel pump! now to find out what actually is broken.

What if the Fp port doesn’t have an actual terminal(stay-con,spade,fork,electrical connection)?
