Question on BudBuilt Bump Out Sliders

I'm looking to get the BudBuilt Bump Out Regular sliders for my TRD Pro, but would like to get positive confirmation on whether or not any trim must be removed or cut in order to accommodate the sliders.

I see on the BudBuilt website that is states the following, "These work with Trail Edition models. Installation for SR5 and Limited Edition will require you to remove or trim your rocker panels."

Over the course of the last two weeks, I've phoned BudBuilt (woman said she'd check with Bud and get back to me, but she never did) and emailed them, but again no response. This alone makes me nervous about buying their products...will I pay them but not get anything shipped?!? :wow:

As the TRD Pro is based on the Trail, I presume no modification is necessary, but I would like confirmation. Does anyone know?

The Pro is by all means a modified Trail so yeah you're good.

Your TRD pro isn't special, the only thing that mechanically separates it from a trail is a different set of shocks. Everything you can do to every other 4Runner, you can do to it.

Bud's too busy building to answer your questions...

But essentiall most everything that fits a TE will fit a Pro, with exception of front skids that may not clear the KDSS.

As others have mentioned you will not need to remove any trim and they will install just fine (very easy install as you do not have KDSS)

As far as Buds' service goes I would not be too concerned. It may be a few isolated incidents as those are what normally get discussed not the other 100 transactions that went smoothly but I had a similar experience before I ordered mine. I was looking at options/ making a slight modification to the slider and was not able to get a reply in a timely manner (took 2-3 weeks). That said, I went ahead and ordered mine as I knew they were a good product/reputable company and it was extremely fast shipping and a quality product as expected.

the lower trim seems to apply to 10-13 SR5 and limited models. I have a '14 SR5 and had no lower trim to remove. This doesn't address your question, but just in case SR5 owners peruse this thread ;)
