Question on lift kit

I am doing a suspension lift, and just had some questions. I want a good 3" lift and I was going to do OME 883 coils in the front and 891's in the rear. with procomp 9000 series shocks in rear and procomp 6000 series in front. Is it bad to mix these 2 brands? And what would happen if I just used 883's in both rear and front?

Nothing wrong with mixing brands. The shocks don't give a shit who made the springs they are damping. :thumb:

The 883s are meant for a coilover, the 891s are meant to seat in the coil buckets in the rear and not for a coilover. They are both springs, but how they mount and interface with the suspension is different. Hope that helps!

Yup! Keep in mind the 891s are meant for high loads, unless you plan to run armor and cargo I would probably go with 890s.

Well I have 70lb subs in the rear, and I will carry extra gas back there so I guess the 891 will be best for this load, or should I still go for the 890's

I have mixed opinions about the 891's. I don't think they're rated correctly, and I also feel they don't hold up very well. They're recommended to carry an additional 200lbs in the rear. I'm carrying around 180lbs of extra weight and the rear is sagging around 1-1/2" after around 3k miles. Others have had luck with them, but I'm not the only person I know with these springs and issues.
