Does anyone know anything about the way OEM 4Runner wheels are manufactured? Specifically, how is the clearcoat applied on painted wheels (like the 18" Limited wheels) or on the machined wheels (like the Sport Edition wheels)? Is the clearcoat sprayed on the wheels or is it actually a powdercoated clearcoat?
A friend of mine swears that factory wheels all have powdercoated clearcoat finishes, but I've never heard of that! Does anyone know for sure?
