Question on Painting sliders??

I decided to paint my sliders today, I finished the primer coat and when I went to start the black coat the weather got bad. Is it ok to let the primer sit for a couple of days. I probably won't be able to lay down the black until Saturday?

Couple of days would be OK but saturday is five days. Generally you should paint over the primer within 72 hours or else the primer will be fully cured and won't bond well with the paint.

Ok, I was able to take some time off today and lay down the black coat.

I had a quick question, I finished with 2 coats and I noticed some dust particles on the sliders. I wanted to lay down the clearcoat but is there a way to clean the dust particles? Should I lay down the clear coat and then clean it? Thanks

If you clear over the dust, the dust will be there forever. After the black paint dries enough, see if a tack cloth removes the dust. If the dust is embedded you might want to lightly sand with 1000 grit, tack cloth it, and spray another coat of paint.

Don't wait too long to clear it. Same as with primer/paint, the paint should not be fully cured to get a good bond with the clear.
