Question on price (purchasing)

Hello. I am new to the 4Runner world. I have been looking at older Land Cruisers, but wanted something a little newer. I looked at 94 4Runner yesterday. Dk Green, 6 cyl, 5spd, 4WD, leather. 183K miles. Very well maintained, huge file of records. Just had clutch done 20k mile ago and T-belt in February. Passed state inspection. Body isn't perfect, but solid overall. Interior is decent. Driver's seat is rough, but nothing unsual. Runs fine. He was asking $3800 and would do $3400. Just wanted some thoughts.

$3400 actually does sound reasonable for the MD area. Offer 3200 and see what happens.

Two years ago, I purchased my 1992 4R with 145,000 on the clock. Paid $4,000 for it. The body is good ( no rust, jsut a couple little dings ) and the frame is straight. All the parts work ( 4WD, cruise, rear window, and side windows ). I did do a bit of maintenance , tho: complete tune up, rotor cap and button, all external belts and hoses, internal timing belt , fuel pump and filter. Plus I bought reconditioned factory alloy wheels and new Michelin LTX 10.50's. I guess I have about $6,500 total investment. HOpe this helps with your vaulation.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up picking it up for $3400 inspected. I got all the records back to the original owner. The service history was great. Needs a good cleaning, but seems solid otherwise.
