Question on replacement rear prop shaft

EDIT: The 37110-6A440 is the correct shaft for the V6. The shaft for the gx470 is 1/2 the price of what I need, and fits the V8 but won't fit the V6.


I have a 2008, T4R, 4x4, SR5.

I have been having some driveline vibration. I purchased the vehicle used with about 50k on it. I don't think the slip yoke or ujoints were ever greased from what I can tell. I had some aftermarket ujoints put on, which took care of some of the vibration, but not all.

I am considering replacing the rear shaft, including joints. Does anyone know if you order a toyota rear propellor shaft, does it come with new ujoints installed, including the flanges that attach to the rear diff and transfer case. The flanges I'm describing are the ones that mate up with the flanges on the transfer and rear diff. I'd like to be able to unbolt the old one, and bolt on the new.

Some guys are using the updated one used for the gx470 with a lot more success. I know there is information on here for part numbers but don't have that in front of me.

Thanks for that information. It looks like the part number for the gx470 repair is 37110-60A40 and the original part number is 37110-6A440. I tried to look through all the threads and cant find what the difference is. The replacement driveshaft is only about $268 whereas the original is about $460. So I'm wondering what the difference is? Why is the replacement so much cheaper? Does it have zerk fittings or is it sealed? I can't find this info either.

It is sealed if I remember correctly. I know some guys did this. Not sure if was reading here or on another site like 120.
