Question regarding exterior LED's...

I found JA's write up and it is very good.

My question is, are there other brands of LED's that anyone has been successful with?

I noticed in his write up the License Plate bulbs were $8 a pair, back up lights were $50 a pair and the front turn signal were $20 a pair.

Somehow I expected the bulbs to be a little less $$.

Just curious as I do like the results.

I've had good luck using V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lightson 3 cars with zero failures.

When is the write-up?
LEDs are cheaper nowadays..and products are getting better. Some LEDs don't need polarity orientation when installing. As for its prices, compare LEDs viewing angle, the wider, the better for a slightly higher price.

V-leds does have a good assortment of quality leds, but they are a lot more expensive than other suppliers. Some of their prices seem to be outright rediculous.

I used VLEDS. Super fast shipping and seems to be high quality. I recently did interior and exterior.

I have bought several LEDs off eBay specificly 'advancedshop', they are out of China but I have been pleasantly surprised by their speedy service (4-5 days). To bid the 168, 194s (map light, license plate, step/courtesy and parking lights) were $5.99 for 2 or buy it now option is $6.99 with free shipping.

So far so good and the LED are inexpensive, all work and look great.

I've used superbrightleds.com for years on multiple cars, and they are always coming out with new, better stuff, and cheaper prices, can't go wrong with them

I too have bought several LED bulbs off ebay. They all ship from China so you eliminate the middleman markup. All worked great and were much cheaper than retail prices.

I would not skimp on external automotive LEDs. :nono:

Do some searches on Google, plenty of people have gone the Ebay route and found many replacement modules were less bright than the stock incandescent bulbs or just plain didnt last.

I am running modules from V-Leds for my dome lights and backup lights and could not be happier. They fit perfect, the construction of the modules is very impressive and they are very bright. I did a lot of research before I spent my hard earned money on them but I found way too many examples on forums where the no-name Ebay seller ones were just not bright enough.

Its your money though.
