Question regarding towing capacity...

New to the boards here and so far I have found a wealth of knowledge...

I'm currently in the market to purchase a hybrid trailer and so far the GVWR rating on some of these lighter hybrid trailers are around ~6,000 lbs. My question is, will this be an issue with my '04 V6 Runner? I know on paper it says that the towing capacity is around ~5,000 lbs but will this be an issue if I am towing something that is a thousand pounds more?

Upgrade your hitch and you'll get 6000 or 6700lbs.

Either the factory hitch (expensive) or take a look at HiddenHitch, Reese, etc.
