How did you have the xm running its signal to the stereo? If you used RF modulation, then yes, the PIE would sound a hell of a lot better.

thats all i wanted to know. from what i understood before hand, all the pie did was make the controls usable through the steering wheel. i just wanted to make sure my money was being well spent.

It will definitely be well worth it. Sound is nice and clear. Nothing changes with the wheel controls.

Right... The sound quality difference between the PIE and RF mod is night and day. The PIE makes it sound almost CD quality. ( I assume other AUX adapters would do the same )

alright! i just got it installed and i must say night and day it is!!! it sounds 100 times better then it did through the fm modulator. thanks for everything guys

PIE and steering wheel control

Hi all,
I installed my PIE adapter today in my 05 non-JBL 4Runner to use with my Sirius Sportster. The sound is great compared to FM modulation, but I have one question. The installation diagram on the logjam website shows a 'Y' adapter that says "plug into factory plug". My PIE unit has a plug for the back of the head unit, which I connected, then there is this other plug that I'm assuming connects into something else, but I can't figure out where it goes. I was hoping when I bought this that I could change stations on Sirius somehow from the steering wheel controls. Has anyone done this successfully?
Any help appreciated. Here is where the installation diagram is.

I believe that goes into the CD Changer port on JBL models. I have a JBL unit and it did go into a port on the back of that radio.
