questions about 3rd gen. 4 runners

it has been a while since I last posted here. I'm currently loving the 08' that I bought a couple of months ago, that I'm considering buying another one somewhere between 94-98 4x4.

Eventhough the 94-95 are 2nd gen, are there any pros and cons with the 3rd gen. 4-runners? Any parts that have been troublesome thoughs years i.e. head gaskets, cracked heads, tranny, etc?

I have had mine 4 years no issue it belonged to my father inlaw before that no issues from him either, he bought it off the lot. If I ever get another 4runner I would like a 3rd gen. 138k no problems here

get a 96 or newer. thats the best advice one could give really. better engines, better suspension, wider, and better looking all around.

:iagree: The 3.0 L in the 2nd gen is all you need to experience to go with a 3rd gen. The 3.0 had head gasket issues too

X3! The 3rd gen will have the bigger engine and you will be much happier with it. Also check that the timing belt has been replaced. they tend to go out around 100K.
