im going to be looking at a 95 4runner on saturday with 155,000 miles, its a 5 speed, and is 4 wheel drive. It has the 3.0 also called the 3.slow. So i want to know, is it really that bad? i would like to be able to pull a small trailer occasionally and would like to know if it has enough power. Also is there any mods to give it a boost in power such as an aftermarket intake or exhaust. He wants 3000 for it but i think i may be able to get it for less, does this seem like a fair price?

How much weight do you plan on towing and what about hills? The manual trans will help, if you can find some 4.88 3rds those might give you a bit more pull too. What type of tire are you running?

not sure what tires it has, going to look at it tomorrow, and i would like to pull a small trailer with i or maybe 2 dirt bikes on it. Its not enclosed and im not sure how big it is but its probably the length of 1 dirt bike. That trailer might be pulled up some small hills, nothing too big.

I race go carts about 50 miles from where i live and would also like to pull a small enclosed trailer on the interstate but the interstate is completley flat, no hills at all, its out in the middle of nowhere in nebraska. The trailer is about the same size as the other one but its enclosed.

i have a 95 runner and ya it doesnt have that great of power but it does have enough power to tow a tailer. i tow a trailer for camping and off roading and it does just fine.

yes it would pull it just fine, and i have a intake and exhaust and got a little power gain out of that

Best MPG I've been able to get out of my '95 3.sloooww was 18.1 from Vegas to Los Angeles. Typically stay around 15-16 right now.

I just purchased the exact vehicle you are referencing. 1995 Manual 4wd with 3.0. SR5 limited. 108k miles. Only deviation from stock is some 31s.

LOVE IT. I've pulled an enclosed trailer full of stuff with it and gone offroading. I took it on a little road trip this weekend as well. I was surprised at the comfort of the ride with the cruise on at about 67. I'm getting about 16 HWY and if I'm lucky about 12 city. It's not a Pruis. But who the hell wants one of those anyway.

Let us know what other questions you have.
