Questions (Lift Support Hardware, Gray Wire Mod, Fog Light Mod)

So, these questions are definitely "noobish".

1- I recently purchased some Monroe lift supports from strutmasters for $32. They arrived yesterday so I decided to throw them on this morning. I was only able to get one on before I had to leave for work. Along the way one of the little C-Clips responsible for holding the support in place decided to leap into the shrubs. Are these C-Clips a generic size that can be purchased from any autoparts store? I called Toyota and they said they on sell the entier support/hardware combo and it's $140 per arm.

2- I was expecting a more dramatic improvement in the lifting power of the suppports even after one support being replaced, but it still doesn't push the tailgate very high, and when the window is rolled down, it still wants to sag a little. Is this normal with everybody else's tailgate? Maybe I'm just a little too used to other gates that fly open and are more difficult to close. I'd prefer that scenario to a gate that likes to sag.

3- I'm wanting to do the gray wire and foglight mods soon, but I know NOTHING about electronics. What type of store should I go to to buy wire, adapters, etc. for those mods?

ok

1. yes that is a generic c-clip can be found at any hardware store
2. my rear gate is smooth but not quick and maybe .25 of sag. take that for what you will
3. as far as wire strippers and all of that stuff hardware store again, or automotive stores should have all of that as well, if you want to do it right find the right gauge of wire, connects for that gauge of wire and some heat shrink.
