Questions On Updating 2010 GPS

This will sound lame to most here but I need to ask.
The Factory GPS in my 2010 Trail has never been updated .
So what do I need , where do I get it and how do I do it ?

I don't think you can update like the 2014 and newer through software and a thumb drive.

The DVD in the above post will work for 2010 to 2012 but not for 2013. For 2013 someone at Toyota lost their mind and made it dealer only.

2014 and up use a memory chip.

I use Google maps on my phone to supplement when needed on my 2013.

OK I'll order the DVD . Now my question is where do you insert the DVD ?

Since mine is a 2013 and the DVD would not work and the seller did not respond when I asked for a return, mine went into the fireplace.

The correct answer is in the CD player slot above the navigation screen.

Be aware these are copies of the OEM disk that Toyota sells. So while they are not $300 bucks, they are also a bit quirky.

I've bought several of my updates from the above link as well as 1 or 2 directly from Toyota.

Also, [MENTION=85467]BobsTrail[/MENTION]...That's not quite the right pic for a 2010-2012 Nav unit. The instructions are in the owners manual, the disk actually is inserted behind the nav screen, a series of button presses and the nav screen flips down and the GPS disk will pop out. I go out a snap a couple pics and post them for future reference.

Steps to replace Nav Disk 2010-2012

Here you go......
Don't press step 4 until after you've swapped disks and the new disk has been fully pulled back into the head unit.
