Quick 5100/toytec question

Pretty sure the answer is yes, but looking for some reassurance from some more experienced people. I have a 3/2 bilstien 5100 lift with the eibach/toytec springs and a small spacer up front 2 hit the 3" mark. Kit is here

If I toss a SSO slimline bumper, winch, and sliders on this truck can i just set the 5100s to 0.85" to gain some height back and not mess with swapping springs out?

I had that exact kit on my 2013. The front springs are 600# which is stiffer than stock. I had the front struts set at 0, and the spacer installed with the lift springs. Here’s how mine sat with a BudBuilt hidden winch mount and Engo SR10 synthetic winch (about 90 lbs total).

I think if you set the front at .85” you might run the risk of having negative rake, based on how mine sat.

Just to clarify, you won’t be running a winch?

I lost right at 3/4" on 5100's and factory front springs when I added the SSO and a winch (~130 pounds). I drove it for a few months like this before I could get some front springs to get the lost height back. It was a little mushier up front but not dangerously so. If you are also adding a winch I do recommend heavier front springs. I personally swapped to OME 2885 front springs. They had the weight rating that perfectly offset the extra bumper/winch, and I simply set the 5100's at 0 to allow for the 2" of lift they advertised. If no winch then the adjustment you are asking about should be ok since the SSO bumper alone only weighs 65 pounds.

The sliders are a non-factor because they will be centered between the axles and only total about one adult body in weight.

I would look into springs in the 650-700# range then, depending on steel vs alum bumper and steel vs synthetic line winch. 600 is a bit soft if you’re adding 120+ lbs to the nose. Mine ride ok but felt a touch undersprung.

Edit: but to answer your question, yes, you can likely set the front struts to .85” to achieve a level-ish stance. But it’s not going to ride well as it’ll be undersprung. Similar to adding 70 lbs to the stock springs with 5100’s. Can you do it? Sure. Is it ideal? No.

For ~$200 and some labor you can have proper springs.
