quick check, found paint chip under rear spoiler

While detailing my wife's 2015 I noticed a small paint chip under the rear spoiler. Very small and appears to be from the spoiler contacting the hatch.

Hers is a 2WD limited that see's no hard duty and mostly smooth roads.

It was not very evident until I pushed up on the spoiler, that will show a gap and if there are any chips. I put a thin piece of rubber gasket in there until I can remove spoiler and fix.

Just a heads up in case anyone else has this issue, especially in a salt climate.

Paint Chip

I had the same thing happen to my 2013 4runner. Took it back to the dealer and they repainted the whole rear door. They said there was a bushing missing when it was assembled at the factory. It was in the 1st 3 months of ownership.

I am just going to fix it myself. I have the worst luck taking vehicles in for warrantee work. Something always seems to happen to my vehicle and wishing I would have left it alone.

Remove spoiler, touch-up the spot, ensure all rubber is there and maybe add some. Just hope I am the only one.....
