Quick Lift Kit question?

Hey guys, i have a quick question about a lift kit purchase.

I am looking to get 3" right now for my ride, here's what kit's i am looking at:

3" Lift Kit with front and rear OME coils (and order the diff. drop with it)

OR

Kit w/spacers, rear OME coils, & diff-drop kit (which is their best seller)

My question is, why/what benefit would i receive from purchasing the the $389 kit that comes with the front OME coils? Are new front coils necessary? Later on, i am planning to add a 2" body lift, so i am assuming this is why i would need to buy the $389 kit i think?

how many miles do you have on your 4runner and what kind of driving are you going to do?

spacers tend to make the ride rougher and make the springs sag quicker. especially if you have older springs. getting the one with front coils will make the ride better and depending on how old your springs are, you would just be replacing worn out parts anyway.

the body lift doesn't care which option your choose. but i only recommend body lifts if you are trying to clear a certain tire size and can't do it with just a suspension lift. they don't help with ground clearence, suspension travel, or ride quailty.

Thanks for the response! To be honest, i do all on road traveling, very rarely do i ever step foot off road. I really just want to jack it up to look good ... turn some heads. The truck has about 214,000 miles ... it's a 1998

nothing wrong with lifting it for looks :)

since you have alot of miles, i wouldn't recommend going with the spacers especially if your springs are original. do you know when or if the shocks were replaced? it might be a good idea to do those too if they are original since i bet they are just about shot. i bet this is rapidly seeming like too much money though :D the full OME kit comes with new spring and shocks so you would have all new suspension. you could also do what ChildrenOfBodom did and get new shocks and 1999 OEM tall springs
 
i have a 97 2wd and got my lift just for looks. haven't installed it yet tho. but i got 1999 tall rear oem coils and i bought a spacer lift for the front. this should get me up about 1.5" im guessing. just wanted a cooler look.
 
Listen to Steeze! Sounds like your coils are too old to be putting spacers on. The fronts are a PITA to disassemble and reassemble and if you think you'll need to get shocks later, just get them now if they have 214K on them. Besides being a PITA, you'll have to get it aligned all over agian too if you have to get shocks later. You will save $$ in the long run if you do it the right way now.

I think the complete OME kit with 4 new shocks, 881s, top spacers (which are fine to use with the new OME coils), and 890s would be your best choice.

What size spacers are you guys using with the OME? Mine just came in. 882 up front and 890 in the rear. I was thinking of cornfed 1 to 1.5 inch spacer in the front. Not sure about the rear. ARB bumper also in the works
