Quick N Easy Hi Lift Mount

So this is not a new idea, but its how I did it....Some scrap flat stock, two 1/2" coupling nuts, some scrap pipe, weld and paint. Add nuts, washers and jack. Aside from painting it took 30 minutes to do.

Nice! Drop by the hardware store and get you acouple thumb screw bolts so you don't need a wrench to get it off and you'll be golden.

To take off from what Fire said above, you could also just use some short sections of threaded rod... torque that down into the mounts, put a tack weld on it, then use wingnuts to secure the jack.

Thanks guys. I thought of using wing nuts but A) didn't have any that night and B) I was actually trying to keep the amount of sharp pointy bits exposed in the back of the truck to a minimum. This is why I mounted it with the levers and pins facing downwards. I don't mind using a tool to take it out, I usually carry a small adj wrench in the glovebox for things like the Firestik anyway.

I'm kidding. I wouldn't hesitate buying another one. The boys actually did this as their first with a 1" BL. Turned out really well. It was totally bolt on, just remember to remove the rubber exhaust hanger before you start to try fitting it. Enjoy,

If you do go with wingnuts I'd get the large plastic style wingnuts used on push lawnmower handles. It would make detaching it a breeze.
