Quick post for a new owner and bad mechanic!

I purchased a 2006 4runner Sport Edition V8 2WD and want to level it out concerning the rake on the front end. I would also like to add a 2-3 inch lift all around. Is this the product I need? And could I do it myself or how much would a mechanic charge?

Looks like your heading in the right direction with the lift! It can be done yourself but you will want a friend there for help. A mechanic is probably going to charge you from 2-4 hours of labor.

Check out the sticky at the top of the forum called "Suspension FAQ" it will tell you everything you need to know about what lifts are available and the differences, as well as tire sizes and installation guides.

It can be done by yourself if you have to, I've changed my suspension at least 4 times by myself. It is a lot easier with a second pair of hands though.

I had never installed a lift on my own before I picked up my 4Runner in March of '10 and I have now changed my suspension at least 4 times as well as installing lifts for 4 other members.

So would the kit that I posted about work well for my 4runner? Are there any other things I would need to get to make it a better ride? steering stabilizer, etc? I'm really new to this and appreciate all the help. Thanks, Jon

Yes, that kit will do what you want (lift/level your truck). You don't exactly NEED anything else, but if you have an extra $400, I would look into getting some new UCAs. My alignment sucked after lifting my truck with the stock UCAs. I have Light Racing UCAs and I love them.
