Quick Question.

Ok so i was driving to school today and i was going down a hill fairly steep. I hit my brakes lightly to slow down and started to slide. It was not pretty i was in the other lane swerving like crazy. My traction control kicked in the "ticking noise"

But my question is When i hear a beeping noise what is that?? I know the ticking but the beeping??

Does that mean a wheel is off the ground?

And what is the beeping doing?

The beeping means either your VSC, vehicle Skid Control, or TRAC had kicked in and was doing its thing to try and straighten your truck out. Its perfectly normal and is probably a good part of the reason you didn't end up all the way off the road in a ditch. If you had been able to look you would have seen 2 orange skid marks lit up on the left of your dash, that also indicates VSC or TRAC is doing its thing.

oh the beeping! lol i read up in the manual that it's when the traction control is failing. i duno but this has happened to me a couple of times but it will beep and i will get all into it like WAHOO!:dancin: sliding everywhere than it will change to a long beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep and all my dummi lights come on and i think it shuts off the engine too. i duno i think its pretty sweet... the beeping lol

Same thing happens to me!

I have a 2010 4runner limited edition. There is a road I have traveled a few times and my brakes have given out on me at times in the same spot. I would be traveling down a slight hill with my foot applied to the brake coming to a stop at a stop sign. Right before the stop sign there is a bump in the road. If my foot is on the brake and my car goes over the bump my brake pedal goes to the floor and the car is not stopping and then I guess it is a brake assistance that kicks in it kinda makes a rumbling noise and comes to a stop. It has really scared me not knowing if I was just going to keep going into traffic. It hadn't happened any other times so I just stopped taking that road. However it happened to me the other day I was on flat pavement breaking with traffic when my car hit a bump in the road and the same thing happened again. I thought I was going to run right in to the person in front of me. I take it in to Toyota service center today, and hopefully it will be corrected.
