quick thermostat question

So i just did a engine swap and put a 160° thermostat in because that's what trd suggested with the supercharger. Well my engine is running at like 170° a little to cold for me. So i did done research and bought the stant 170° thermostat that urd recommends.
Well after looking at it there is no jiggle valve. does this thermostat have a certain position?

I wish I had an answer. I just bought the Stant 170 and I didn't see any instruction. I've seen a couple pictures and it was mounted horizontal.
I honestly don't think it matters since it has no opening.

I hope so. I know the 160 and factory 180 had the valve. Figured this one would to. Guess I'll just put it in horizontal and see what happens unless someone else chimes in

Yeah im changing it Friday before heading to the snow. I don't know what mounting it any different direction would do.

There's been several discussions I've seen about positioning of the thermostat.

In the end, as long as your cooling system works fine, it's doesn't matter all that much. All the thermostat does is open when hot. Every one I've replaced I just put it back in the way it came out. Sometimes 6 o'clock, 12 o'clock, in between...

Yeah I've always put the jiggle valve at the 6 o'clock position.
Guess I'll put this one without the jiggle valve in the same position the other ones in
