Quick tire opinion

As you know I have Revos on my truck 265/70/17 , I had them mounted with white letters out , since that is how the donlops were on sports.

I'm going to my buddys tire shop this week to BS and catch up on some old times.

Should I switch them to black walls out ? kind of sick of the white letters ( won't cost anything ).

Call me nuts but I always though white letters break up the appearance of a tire and make it look smaller , where as a solid black sidewall looks bigger. ( just a goofy visual thing I guess).

On most all vehicles have blackwalls anyway today , the white letter trend seems to have gone by the wayside.

Also BFG makes the only white letters I like , nice heavy bold block style letters. Hate the white outline crap.

So ....

Ahhhh.... the age old personal preference question.

I've always thought the white letters looks good on sports cars. For any SUV, blackwalls look the best.

Falls........... why take the chance of something going wrong like marking up a rim on the tire machine or messing up the ...... "um" what do you call them darn tire pressure monitors in the rims .... you know the ones. I say don't do it ......... just my 2 bits.

Just change the air in the Revos for the summer and be done with it my good man. I take out the old air and put in fresh air every 10,000 miles.

Not sure about which tires I'll go with , the plan now if the BFG's , wouldn't mind trying Nitto TG's either. But hopefully can have them on before the snow flys.

My rims are already messed up from the dealer that mounted my Revos . and a little off road pounding.

TP monitors are not really a big deal , so many cars have them that its not an unusual thing like years past. If they mess them up , they will have to pay for new ones.

Just get a permanent black marker and do it the old fashion way! No damage rims. No problems with tire monitor.

Ugh go blackwall. I can't wait til my tires wear out to replace the white letters I have. Lettering on tires looked cool when I was 16

Okay, just curious. Eventually, we all need new tires. Is there something to worry about with damaging rims, or the pressure monitors? Just asking because I don't know. Thanks now.

I'm going with blackwall out this next time. The Grandtreks were white out and I had the Revo's put on white out. I'm ready for a change and I think. I agree with the illusion that the white lettering makes the tire sidewall appear smaller. All black sidewall just looks meaty! Plus, it only takes a couple trips offroad before the white lettering gets scuffed up. Definately black out next time!

Okay, just curious. Eventually, we all need new tires. Is there something to worry about with damaging rims, or the pressure monitors? Just asking because I don't know. Thanks now.

No there's not a problem. I good tire shop knows how to deal with it because so many vehicles have them without a problem , same with rims.

Hay I got it! I say we all get two sets of rims and tires so we can switch them any time we want ..... As a matter of fact three sets one black wall one white wall and one with MT tires for off road.

You guys go ask your wives if you can do this and let me know how you make out and then I will ask mine ....... You see babe all the other guys wives let them get three sets of rims and tires so why can't I have them as well??
