First of let me say what a great forum this is.
I recently acquired my very first 4 runner, 1996 SR5. The truck was a hand me down that stood parked for almost a year so I knew that it would need some work, did not this it would need this much work.
After lifting the truck and giving it a look over we found a lot of rust especially in the front. New York gets some rain. From there we found that the rack and pinion was leaking and was very loose. My mechanic also suggested that we replace the stabilizer links, stabilizer bar, and the tie rod ends since they looked so poor. I was able to find most of the parts on Ebay and I guess that would be my first question; how good are the rebuild racks on ebay, anyone has any experience with them? My second question is I need to find all the necessary bushings to finish this repair. I want to get it over width in one shot. I read somewhere that Energy Suspension has some kits buts there were fitment issues.
