Radar / Laser Detector

Anyone have one of these? I have been thinking of getting one... most of my friends use a Valentine One / V1 which seems to be one of the best units out there, but they also cost a lot. I see a couple auctions on ebay I might try and go after unless there are some other units worth looking at.

What are you guys using?

Oddly enough, I've had a couple of Escort units (not in Virginia and many years ago when I was young and foolish) and would suggest that you re-evaluate your need for one carefully.

I've only gotten a couple of tickets and each one was when I had the detector. Quite simply, I've found that the detector lulls you into a false sense of security.

If you're not driving stupid fast - passing everything in sight and weaving in and out of traffic - then you don't really need a detector. Stay aware of your surroundings, let people pass you (and let them get the tickets) and, if on a longer trip, stay a couple of cars behind the guy with the detector and slow down when he brakes.

I don't have a detector.
The last ticket I was found guilty was 1984.
Just don't drive like a squirrel on public roads. You think you're fast, try a racetrack. It can be humbling.

i think he does reviews.

but check out this installers work, he does install radar detector and jammer.
