Where can i get the radflo kit with OW valving, since Overland is closed now? Also where is the best place to buy a kit (toytec/metaltech)and what LB springs would you reccommend for a V8 maintaining stock bumpers. I usually hear 650 LB but i wasnt sure since they have the 600/700 option. Im interested in the radflo kit at metal tech with the total chaos UCAs, and wanted to know if theres discount codes too since i wasnt sure if the toyrec kits had the OW valving. Thanks

Metal tech sells the radflos but make sure you ask them for the OW specs. Or you can order direct from radflo and ask for Glenn. He knows all about it.

You can get the kit direct from Radflo or through Metaltech. No matter which route you go, be very clear as to which spring rate you want. All the 4runner Radflo kits are now valved per OW specs (per Radflo). Metaltech used to have the standard offerings of 600lb coils for the 2.0 kit and 700lb coils for the 2.5 kit. I believe they now have a standard 650lb setup for both 2.0 and 2.5.

Of course, you can still get 600/650/700...it might just take an extra couple weeks to build. For the V8, 650lb seems preferred. It depends on the ride you like. I ran the 600lb 2.5 kit for the past month and it rode ok. I swapped in the 700lb 2.5 kit this past weekend and I like the way it rides. It's noticeably more solid and controlled (not to say the 600 wasn't - just very little body roll, etc) I do have a couple hundred pounds of accessories on the truck and a bumper on the way though.

Brandon @ Metaltech and Mike @ Radflo both provided great customer service. If you go through Metaltech, just mention you're part of t4r and they hopefully will have a discount.

Good luck and post up some pics when you get them in. The only thing I regret about the Radflos is not ripping out the Xreas a long time ago!!

I just got my runner on Sunday, and am already trying to rip out the stock and replace them. I'm looking at a full rack probably from WMW as another mod but that will probably be it since I don't wanna get bumpers atleast yet. I also wanted to know does the stiffer coils end up giving more lift due to sagging? Thanks and sorry for all the questions!

dont mean to hijack but is there any place where you can get the ow rear coils?

I'd think both Metaltech and Radflo would sell them separate. They come with the full kits. Just drop them a line.

Trying to understand 'more lift due to sagging'? Higher spring rates take more weight to compress, so the 700 lb coils will compress less than the 600 lb coils at stock weight, therefore giving you more lift without having to crank down the coilovers (which leads to a harsher ride). It really comes down to what your objectives are for the truck. Talk to Brandon or Mike and let them know what you're planning, the kind of ride quality you're looking for, and they'll be able to help you out.

Sorry I probably should have read that before I typed it, but you answered my question, sorry for that confusion. I'm thinking either 650 or 700 in the front since I have the V8 but 700 might be a little too stiff if I'm only planning a rack while keeping stock bumpers

Having just done this, let me ask what you plan on using the truck for. If you plan on using it mostly for daily driving/city...I'd suggest the Toytec ultimate kit with 600lb front coils and rear superflex coils and bilstein shocks.

If you plan on offroading more, the radflo's are nice, but I'll be honest in saying that the Radflo kit is a bit stiff for daily driving. I'm running the 650lb coils up front and I think 600lb would drive better for daily use.

I also ran into issues with my Radflo's since day 1...I think the Toytec setup would offer more simplicity/reliability.

The Radflo's are great offroad, though.

thanks, on metal tech's website they list them as radflo coils but i was pretty sure they were eibachs or something of the like

I run 600's on my V8 and yes they are Eibach springs. They are a little noisy if you hit a bump slow enough but I have nothing but good things to say about them besides that. I bought through MetalTech

If the springs are clunking when you hit bumps, they are not properly seated or you need limit straps on your set-up. Often, the shocks will be good enough limit straps, but I don't know your set-up.

If its just squeaking and such, then they aren't seated properly or the rubber spring seats are worn.

It's purely the design of the coilover as to why they do what they do. I've looked into it from countless resources and that's what it seems to be. I've never had a coilover do it until I ran these but it seems to happen with their design for mostly everybody. They are perfectly seated. I don't see any need for a limiting strap either for my setup?

Disagree. The Radflo kits are a little noisy at slow speed, I experience the same noisiness hence I suggested the Toytec kit if the OP wants more of a daily driver.

What issues have you had? Do they squeak? Ive been looking at Radflo and I'm glad I'm reading this.

My bad, I assumed you were referring to the rear springs making noise, not the front.

Yeah mine squeaked for a while on light compression, drove me nuts... doesn't do it anymore now.

My rear Radflo shocks are being rebuilt as we speak. After installing them I was noticing a rear clunking sound which only seemed to get worse. After some trouble shooting we found the shock shaft came loose due to the rear pins being broke. I'm thinking this might have been caused by no nitrogen charge in the shock upon installation.

The fronts were pretty stiff set up 2.75 on lift causing some clunks. I in turn lowered the coilovers down to around 2.5 of lift and it softened the ride and drove more plush.

I did a lot of research on this Radflo kit. Having had my results and seeing that my truck is really a daily driver, I think the Toytec Ultimate would have given me the 3 inches of lift I was looking for with a more plush type ride on road. The TT comes with 600lb coils and different valving which I think could be better suited for a dd.

However, I will say the Radflo kit is great once you get offroad. Very controlled and much more plush than stock. I'd think the Radflo kit is better suited offroad than the TT Ultimate, given the Radflo has different valving. Not bagging either kit, just sharing my interpretations of my findings.

Just my .02.

From what I understand it's some sort of internal bump stop that makes the noise. It's only under light compression. For example, when I come home and go over a speed bump they will make a sort of thump noise. It won't always do this, it depends on how fast and the angle I hit it. Any other type of driving this is nonexistent. So whenever off road I will get the noise but It's nothing that worries me due to the great performance they had this weekend. I think it needs to be addressed in future RADFLO designs. Other than that it's the best ride I've had on a 4runner setup and the smoothest.

My OW 2.0's fronts clunked pretty badly from day 1. Thought there was something wrong so sent them to Radflo to be inspected, also sent pics of the install, and they said everything was fine. Switched out to Icon and couldn't be happier. I haven't had any clunks, squeaks, etc and IMO the ride quality is better as well (which is partly due to going from standard to extended travel). I've always been a huge fan of OW, but after owning both I'd suggest the Icon's over Radflo. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

I've thought about icon but I wasn't sure how satisfied many people were with the performance compared to radflo. I'm planning on wheeling my rig a good bit hopefully, but the southeast less open space to open up the throttle while offroad.
