I think they only ever had the radiators with the built in transmission cooler lines. The stock one on my 96 5-speed had them, and the OEM one I replaced it with did as well. The trans cooler lines come capped already. I just left them capped since I usually like sticking with Toyota parts.

No, my '99 5-speed factory rad has no cooler and there is a p/n for it (16400-75160). But if you try to buy it it tells you it is replaced by the auto rad p/n.
Toyota stopped making the 5-speed rad years ago and I have never seen any after-market ones either. You just have to use the auto rads and cap the cooler lines if they don't come that way.

Look at Taco rads. I noticed on Amazon that they had different sizes. I dont know if any are made for a manual though. I haven't researched it yet but I hate my replacement rad for the auto. It hangs down 2" lower than the manual & butts up against my skid. I actually had to lower my skid to accommodate it.
Please report back if you find anything.

There is no extra cooling capacity, the bottom is for the trans fluid. :noidea:

The radiator has a larger core, hence it is taller. The bottom tank is not for trans fluid, but the trans cooler is in there; yes.
Maybe spend less time looking for "topical" memes

I have a 5 speed with auto radiator, hangs low. Got the 4x4 innovations bumper, getting ready to buy the skid. From their site pic, it looks like it will clear, may be close, not sure if rub or hits.

It will fit, all fabricators build for the auto. My engine skid was custom made for manual taco's so now I have to lower it with spacers so I dont crush the auto rad.
Will I need spacers to make an auto radiator fit my truck? I have a stock skid plate.

I dont know what truck you have, you should put the specs in your signature.
Stock skids should work with any rad.

The auto radiator will be fine man. I just replaced mine and had to do the same thing. Some guys get the Tacoma radiator because it is shorter (or so I hear) but that really doesn't matter unless you are all hardcore off road and modified. I believe all the aftermarket skids/bumpers etc are built for the auto radiator anyway.

Yup, roughly 90% of the 3rd gen 4Runners are auto. If they made them to fit manuals only they'd be missing out on a huge market.

A guy was selling them on TW for manuals. SS so no painting or rusting. They tuck up nice & tight. They are laser cut to say 4runner, TRD, Tacoma or Toyota.

Since I put this info out there, I should mention that the shroud from a larger radiator will not fit without modification- I just trimmed the bottom off mine- but the shroud mounting locations do line up. Speaking of mounting locations, if you simply bolt this radiator in- which can be done- it will interfere with your hood structure. Your hood will still shut, but the heat pad under your hood will have an impression. This is because the rad cap is off to the driver side, instead of centered like our rads are. I did not like this, so I lowered my rad to avoid any damage to the filler neck from dropping the hood. You have a fine line to walk here between your fan hitting the upper opening of your shroud, and the hood clearing the filler neck. You also need to use a Tacoma rad cap. Ours are different.**THIS RADIATOR IS NOT A DIRECT FIT REPLACEMENT**
You may be able to use the middle size- 20.75"- with less or no modification at all.
