Radiator Leaking

So I'm sure this has been brought up a lot. My radiator has started leaking. It it a 2004 with 135K miles.

I have been trying to compare radiators and pricing.

Any ideas which route to take?


I thought I would replace the belt while I had it off. The hoses seem like neoprean should they be replaced or will they last a while? I don't see any bad spots.

Should the thermostat be replaced? Anything else I'm missing?

radiator, denso brand works fine. thats what i used. hoses and thermostat dont have to be replaced if it is still okay.

Go with the denso or the OEM Toyota.

You don't have to change it, but since you're already there and draining/filling the system, you might as well replace the hoses and the thermostat. It's an extra $30 some bucks, that you avoid having to pay for more coolant if the hose bursts + the headache you save from your truck being down/having to fix it

I got denso from Amazon. Decided to replace the waterpump (aisin), and oem thermostat. I end up using two and a half jugs of radiator fluid. Yours should be quite less since its just the radiator you are replacing. The denso fit like oem. Get something to plug up the transmission line like a sharpie PEN during removal. Longest part is burping the system.

We'll do some maintenance on uncle's 2005 4Runner closing to 150k miles, we'll just finish installing the new rack and tonneau cover on his truck for kayak mount. We've suspected the radiator is leaking as well, guess Denso is the better brand to go with.

I just installed a Denso a couple of months ago along with new hoses and a thermostat. The radiator fit like a champ and was identical to the original. An easy job, it took a couple of hours and I was working slow.
