Radio screen failure

After a long day at the beach, I cranked up my 08 SR5 4x4 with 135k, and the radio looked like this.


I've read some posts with symptoms similar to mine and the screen was fixed the next day, I'm hoping mine ends up the same.

I purchased one of those sun reflectors for my windshield, hoping to protect my dash from cracking, which I hear is common on these 4th gens, and now I will for sure use it to help take care of the radio..... if it fixes itself tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

The dash issue was affecting the 2003 to 2005 T4Rs, it has been said that Toyota changed the vinyl formula to appease enviromentists for those years, 2006 on onwards the formula either changed back or to another and I haven't heard of any issues for models after 2005.

Update, its fixed itself, relief sets in

Not sure if it was coincidence, but I had similar symptoms with mine a couple weeks before my battery died. Screen got wonky/seemingly fixed itself several times - then battery died. Been over a year since I replaced the battery and screen has been fine ever since.
