Radio screen (non-Nav) brightness

Seriously... Could the little orange screen be any harder to see during the day? Throw on a pair of shades (polarized) and you can't see a thing. Anyone figure out a way to brighten it up?? The orange looks super cool at night but just wish I could see it in the daylight.

This has been, unfortunately, a very common complaint.
