Random Fuel Smell

Hello All,

I have a 92 4Runner V6 with approx 223k on it. I am noticing a random fuel smell in inside. I will then go for a drive and the smell is still there. however next time I start the engine and go for a drive it I don't smell anything. This happens once every three weeks or so.. I am still using the same fuel in it.

There seems to be no leaking of fuel anywhere. any ideas?

fuel smell

get a good light and the next time u smell it on the passenger side look behind the Plenum, the fuel Reg is there on the 3.0. they all do that when there old. When its running if its clean u might see it . problem is if u cant see it dripping but smell it , and in fact thats the location of the leak..... it might b so small that its vapor by the time it leaks.my truck had a visible leak. also the seals around the injectors get hard and start to flood out but this usually makes the truck run or start up bad.

It has been a while since the fuel smell, but it is back and I did look on the passenger side. I saw some sort of drip, most likely fuel. it was dripping by an exhaust pipe, but not on it.. is there the right location???
