Yesterday I started my 1998 4Runner and while still in park the doors began making the lock/unlock noise (it was dark so I couldn't see if the door lock buttons were actually moving or not). It did this 4 or 5 times in rapid succession then stopped.
I drove it for a few blocks and stopped again, put it in park but didn't shut it off. It did it again 2 times (several lock/unlocks in rapid succession each time).
My truck does have the feature that when you turn the car on the doors lock, then when you turn it back off they unlock.
First thought was battery connection problems as I recently had it in for water pump/timing belt work, but the radio never cut out when the doors were misbehaving.
Didn't happen while driving, but that could have been coincidence.
Anybody have any ideas?
