My engine has developed some piston slap, still runs strong and isn't overheating but who knows for how long. So with that being said I have chose to buy a rebuilt engine instead of doing it myself so I have a warranty and save on time. After doing some research my options are narrowed down to LC Engineering or Raptor, problem is I have found some good and some bad about LC but nothing for Raptor. I like the 7 year 70,000 warranty Raptor offers and am leaning towards the performance 22re they offer but want to cover all my bases before I order.
Raptor engines, anyone have any experience with them??

I wouldn't pay LCEs prices, and I don't hear enough about Raptor to really want to trust them either. Are you looking for a built motor or a stock replacement? Have you checked out www.22reperformance.com?

I have seen 22re performance, real nice but more than I want to spend. I am probably gonna go with the Raptor motor unless I hear something really bad about them. The ides of having a warranty like that makes me feel better. I definitely agree that LCE is over priced and have seen some scary reviews about some of their products. I will definitely be going with the performance version, a header, intake, and new exhaust, hoping for 150 horse in the end.

Just be very weary of the "warranty". They could pull a hat trick and tell you you didn't install it correctly, you put the wrong oil in it, etc. Or if they do honor it the down time of your truck and the cost to ship it could end up costing quite a bit. Not to mention installing, then un installing, then reinstalling the motor yourself, F that you only want to do it once. My vote is to find a reputable shop near you and have them rebuild your current motor( unless you have the space and ability to diy). That would likely cost less than buying a motor that has already been rebuilt. Oh ya i forgot about the core charge and shipping your old motor to them. Just some food for thought, keep us posted with your desicion
Raptor Engines is a ripoff artist
Stay far far away from raptor engines! The same guy operates 4 different named entities for the same products I call them aliases.
I bought a complete 22RE from this guy in sept/2016 after 7 weeks the second engine showed up since the first one was "lost in shipment"lol.
The complete engine wasn't fully assembled! The front cover wasn't on it but the head was already on it.the loose parts all had sticky notes on them lol.
After a couple phone calls the guy agrees to take the motor back for a full refund. He has had the motor since october/2016 no refund no complete motor his lawsuit is in the works.
Everything I ever bought from LC ENGINEERING was awesome but they are expensive.

My experience with rebuilt raptor engine...
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
I have had nothing but problems with this engine from day one. With less than 2000 miles on it, just about every gasket and seal has failed. It never spends more than a couple weeks out of the shop before some other massive failure. Ive had this engine in my rig for 3 years, and its spent 2 of those years in the shop.
In fact its in the shop right now getting a head job because the $%#%% idiots at raptor.
The warranty isnt worth the paper its printed on.
Ive spent thousands on this damn thing & it still doesnt run.
Could not be less satisfied... i should probably sue them.
