Raptor lights on a 2020 Non TRD Pro Grille

Curious to see where your final placement ended and how they look at night. I am running into the same issue since I do not have a PRO grille in mine. Share current pic(s)?

Here is what I did with mine. It is double sided tape underneath the horizontal piece.

Ford is required by FMVSS/DOT to put clearance lights on the Raptor. If they didn't meet the letter of the law, they wouldn't be permitted to sell the vehicle. Personally, I think they found an elegant solution to not putting hideous cab lights on a sporty upmarket truck.

None of that changes the fact that they serve no purpose on a 4Runner other than to those who like the look for whatever reason.

It's interesting to note that Ford does not have "Raptor Lights" on F-150 Raptors outside of North America. They blank them out. That should tell you something right there

I'm sure Ford designers get a bit of a giggle when they see all these Toyotas rolling around with a design element they were forced to implement.

I never went back to modify them to work on the upper grille and put it low on my priority list. There's another thread, Raptor Lights 2020 4Runner, where some guys got them to work though and they have a few pics up on the last page.

I didn’t even know they sold the Raptor in any other country but there you go. It’s driven by legal necessity.

Never mind Ford engineers, I crack up when I see it.

Wiring

Hi I’m pretty new to the 4Runner scene. I picked up some raptor light as well. Can anyone tell/show me where we can plug in the wire/fuse. I have a 2020 sr5 premium and every video and DIY shows the cabin fuse box, however mine is not have the same fuse box layout. Can some one help point me to the right direction please?

If you mod your 4Runner to be wider than 80"... you too could be legally mandated to add identification lamps!

So get some 2" fender flares and you can totally justify it.

I believe if you go into the cabin you need to use the TAIL slot in the 2020's

I'm playing around with placement, what are your guy's thoughts? Has anyone else mounted them around the TSS and can share a pic? Any option besides buy a Pro grille at the moment is open.

Hi jtgrinsell, how did you hook up your raptor light? I tried using the tail fuse slot and it didn’t work for some reason. I have the 2020 sr5 premium and the fuse box looks a bit different from everyone else’s.

I have the same 2020. I changed my grill to the diamond grill with Toyota logo because I also wanted raptor lights but I have been struggling with the fuse. I’ve tried all the locations from YouTube videos but they don’t work. What fuse spot did you use?

I just installed the Yota LED's and used the "TAIL" 10a fuse in the driver kick panel fuse box. Lights only come on when the headlights or running light are on. Many people notch the fuse box in the engine compartment to wire the add-a-fuse, really didn't want to risk dust or water getting in there.

On another note, I also cut the wire and fished it through the firewall grommet that the hood release utilizes. Super clean install although it does take a little time to get the wire pushed through. Once the wire was in the cab I extended it about 5", pulled that 10a "TAIL" fuse and Bob's your uncle.

The 3-LED Yota lights look killer IMO, any mode you do that makes the truck more enjoyable for the owner is OK in my book.
