Hi guys I was getting an intermittent rattle from the light assembly.
Anyway when I took the car to the dealership and took the service manager on a test drive it did not rattle. He removed the light assembly in front of me, and after playing with the light assembly for a little while in his hand the rattle started again, he said that it would be fixed. He asked me if I had any other problems and I told him that they did grease the driver shaft and the thunk reduced. He told me that there was a fix for the driver shaft and it could be fixed. He has only fixed one 4runner with a thunk before and said that the thunk did not bother most people and they do not come to the dealership with the problem. He said they would be replacing the drive shaft with a machined one to eliminated the thunk.
I just thought I would let you guys know. I have a little over 30,000 miles on the car.
