Rattling and pedal vibrating

Rattling

Anyone ever hear a rattle under their front end when they go over speed bumps? Its like a slight rattle.. it doesn't carry on its quick like something is hitting once maybe twice then it stops...

Any suggestions?


BTW I have a 03 SR5 V6

I have had two rattles in the interior:

1. Perceived to be in the dash, so the dealership tore apart the dash looking for it. They wrapped wires, etc. -- the service manager said you could see a big difference in a Lexus and a Toyota once you got inside the dash. Net -- it was the sunroof covers telepgraphing the sound. Fixed.

2. Another that seems to come from the dash that is actually the sliding plastic cover on the auto-dim mirror. If you get your head close to the mirror, you can figure out that it's not the dash. It happens occasionally, but I've not had the dealer take action. Just move it a bit to the right and the noise disappears for a few days.

If not that, I've also had the front stabilizer bushings replaced because they caused a squeak going over a speed bump. Maybe you have something similar, but maybe it's just a little loose?

I had the same problem as John. I did not have them replaced... just had them lube all the WHOLE chassis and everything they could and it disappeared. This also fixed a thud/kluck sound that vibrated through the brake pedal when stopping/stopped. That sound ended up being the driveline (axle) was "dry" and needed lubed too.

I have some clicking sound from the front wheels

when I am running over a speed bump (with foot on the brake pedal). Or when I move back and forth in the parking lot with again foot on the brake. It sounds like clicking an old circuit breaker. The dealer said it could be that the brake pads have too much play.

Another sound (more like rubber rubbing the ground) comes from the struct (?) when moving over a speed bump. I think this may be normal sound from the structs or the wheels.

Sounds like you can reproduce at will. The next time you take it in, give a demo to the service manager and have it checked out. Since they think it's related to the brakes, I'd be a bit nervous and make it soon.

[/B][/QUOTE] This could be a stabilizer bushing -- that's exactly the sound my Oldsmobile used to make. When you take it in for the brakes, also demo this one to them -- that's what the warranty is for.
