Rattling/knocking near gas tank while in gear

Drove home from work and went to parallel park my truck on the street across from my house. Sounded like a helicopter flying above me, turned down my radio and realized it was coming from my truck below me. I shift into park it goes away. So I shift into drive and pull up the parking brake so I can try and find the issue. It's only when it's in gear "d" drive or "r" reverse, not in neutral or park. No check engine light

Key info missing...was it moving when making noise? Just guessing this is the first time you have heard it. Any felt vibrations?

Nope no movement, foot on the brake and it was in drive...it made the noise. Threw it in park to inspect it, went away. Shifted back into drive it came back. Sounds metal-y. Hopefully it's just a heat shield. I'll update in the morning when there's light to check it out

Check the tc dampner, 2 bolts s/b at 28 ft/lbs. Luck. :cowboy:

Yep! Took a look at it this morning and it was banging on the frame/cross member. It loosened itself from the muffler, and then rusted off the muffler when I went to adjust it. Now I have no tail pipe, but no rattling!
