re-engine swap 98 into 99

Installed 1999 v-6 wiring harness onto 1998 engine that will go into the 1999 SR5. Doc mentioned that the 1999 harness would not work on the 1998 injectors because the connectors would not lock, the harness does fit and lock on the injectors. The injector part number is different from 1998 to 1999 and there is a physical difference between the two, the 1999 injectors lack the rubber grommet or insulator at the top of the injector. I would rather not mess switching the injectors if there is not an electrical issue.

I guess I should restate. Does anyone know if the 1998 fuel injectors will fire correctly from the 1999 ECU? Any difference in voltage or amps?
