Another issue. The drone (acoustic vibration in the cabin) is gone some times, even at the problematic 2k rpm range. It's weird. If I can keep it at this level, I would be fine. I can't see a pattern of why this happens. I've heard of cold air entering vs. warmer air causes this. Any idea guys?

I too hear the drone, and it does get annoying. Which makes me sound "old", but I'm not. 
Even with the new kickin' stereo, it's still noticeable to me, and *very* noticeable to anyone else who gets in and rides for any amount of time in the truck. Problem is, I really like how it sounds, and I love how it looks. :bash: And bear in mind that almost my whole vehicle was dynamatted for the stereo install - that didn't seem to do much of anything. Maybe a slight decrease in the drone, but it ain't much, believe me. CERTAINLY not worth getting your car dynamatted if you aren't installing any stereo stuff...
I stopped in to talk with a custom exhaust shop down here and the guy said he could weld in a resonator for about 100 bucks or so. I'm thinking about trying this as well... the down side is that I would assume this would void the Magnaflow warranty. As well as reduce the flow and any HP gain that I got (real or imagined). I'm still gonna try it I think. I have my old exhaust system out in the garage. My question is this: is there a resonator on the old system? The guy at the shop said I would need to find one for my vehicle... I don't know anything about exhaust... thoughts?

Fins_UP, I have a TRD catback system and I too have the annoying drone that just drives me crazy sometimes. I decided to take it to a local exhaust shop to get some recommendations and he said that I currently have a 10" resonator on the TRD system and that they make 14" resonators that would possibly quiet it down enough to get rid of the drone. I can't be exactly sure, but it looked like it was a magnaflow catalog he was showing me with the resonator in it. I don't think they're vehicle specific, so any resonator in the right size should work. I'm going to put in an order for one with him and go back there to get it installed. We'll see how it turns out...
