Just saw this!Sad they don't think it would be enough of a hit back here to actually have it worth selling i know my parents for a fact would buy one!

It's not that it wouldn't sell, that doesn't factor into it. There's two reasons Toyota won't sell it here - they don't want to make it meet our oppressive MPG and emissions laws, and they wouldn't make as much profit margin on a little LC70 as they do on the bloated luxury Landcruiser and Lexus (and yes 4runner) models they're selling now.

It ain't about what customers want, it's about what Toyota can make the most money selling.

+1

It's all about the MPG BS

That article's not entirely true. We have had them here (Australia) for quite a few years now, and a 4.0L petrol engine isn't even an option on them - they come standard with a 4.5L V8 turbo diesel!

Not a re-release.

It's the Aussie 70 series which has been on sale there since the 1980s with periodic minor refreshing.

Front and rear live axles, diesel V8, front, rear, and center lockers.

Available in pickup, troop carrier, and wagon (SUV).

Eat a dick, Toyota, for not selling these here.
