Yup, nor is anybody saying their KDSS 4R handles like a 911. It just handles better than one without. I really enjoy having KDSS and this Dr. KDSS switch looks perfect. Easy install and seems like a no brainer even if you don't off road much. Having the control seems almost necessary and I wish Toyota did that from the factory, but I understand why they didn't. Adding this to the short list.

I've been reading this forum for years even though I just created an account recently.
Not necessarily on this thread but I have seen a considerable amount of times, some implying anyone who chose not to have KDSS is downright wrong. Similarly, those who bought a TRD Pro are stupid for doing so (despite not knowing how much it was bought for, the reason of the purchase, etc...)
I have no issue with anyone giving their opinion, but it's mind blowing how certain people judge without knowing. Shouldn't we all be happy with what we have? Why care about what others have?

Don't have our ORP yet, but will follow up on this if we feel the 17 mile drive on the dirt road to our cabin is too harsh.
One problem though...according to the website, the Dr is out of stock for

.I am curious to see how a KDSS 4runner compares to one without. It seems like a neat system. That being said, our '16 SR5 handles just fine. There is a fair amount of body roll but when one needs to hustle a bit, the key is to have smooth inputs on the steering, allow the tires to set, and gradually add more steering input. That type of driving allows the chassis to take a set and while there is roll, it is controllable and the handling is more than adequate for typical on-road situations. And the brakes are also excellent - very powerful and you can control nose dive via progressive application and not standing on it - tap and squeeze, not hammer down. The 4runner is a true SUV, and so you have to adapt your driving style to that reality, but when you do, it is a pleasant truck to live with on a day in and day out basis, and everything just works and is relatively rock solid, day in and out.

Yea, you have some time anyway. I talked to him last night on instagram. He only had a couple 10-19 model year harnesses left, so I ordered one of the last ones. Still need to wait on the switch as those won't be in until next week he thinks. He said that the connectors from Toyota may not be in until June, so he'll be out of harnesses until then.

That's cool to hear he's pretty responsive, but sucks how the supply chain problem is hitting so much of the industry. But won't need it for a while, like you say, so no biggie

I didn't realize a KDSS controller existed until I opened this thread. Good to know, I like the idea of turning it off when needed.

better overall “on road” characteristics- secure, safe and more comfortable drive (especially if you tow) and better articulation off road.
Before bashing my comments, read this: I do not care if you have or do not have KDSS, I do not care if like it or do not like it, but in some technical factual scenarios in life objective facts do exists… and KDSS is one of those circumstances… so in essence (and purposelessly exaggerated) arguing about having KDSS or not is like arguing about benefits of having shocks in a vehicle…. The facts will remain regardless of your opinion or feelings…

Not going to bash your comments, or anyone's for that matter. Don't take my post so seriously. I thought it was pretty apparent that I was joking and simply poking a little fun. Especially with my added smiley at the end, but I guess I'm not surprised someone on the internet would take it so seriously and get personally offended.
KDSS is cool, but definitely not the end all be all that some people "purposelessly exaggerate" it to be.

your comment assumes that KDSS is better for anyone regardless of the scenario. This is not true. It might be better overall for most people, but for some, they are better off without KDSS. Just have to accept this fact
Same point for XREAS.
Also gotta take into consideration long term reliability of certain systems (looking at you XREAS...) or having less is more sometimes (risks of failure)
